Mystical Shangri-la

Shangri-la (also known as Zhōngdiàn) is home to remote temples, rugged scenery and the start of the Tibetan world.
It's the mythical paradise inspired by James Hilton's Lost Horizon.

Close to the Tibetan border, the town is an interesting mix of Tibetan, Han Chinese, and local Yunnan Naxi communities. This cultural mix, combined with traditional architecture and some dramatic, wild scenery, make it a great place to see a different side of Yunnan.

Breathtaking Lijiang

Lijiang may spoil you with its beauty. Snow-capped mountain vistas, ancient architecture and streets, canals and waterways, and the Naxi people and their distinct culture give Lijiang its universal value to mankind. The aged wooden buildings decked with hanging red lanterns and local musicians playing their centuries-old Naxi instruments in the time-worn streets, display a lifestyle and culture that seem lost in time.
